A Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) is a licensed residential facility that provides 24-hour care and intensive therapeutic services to children and youth who require a higher level of support than traditional foster care. STRTPs are designed to stabilize youth with complex behavioral, emotional, or mental health needs through individualized treatment plans, trauma-informed care, and collaboration with families and community providers. The goal of an STRTP is to help youth achieve emotional and behavioral stability so they can transition successfully to a family-based or less restrictive setting.
