Formerly known as Group Homes, Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) was established effective January 1, 2017 by Assembly Bill 403 (Chapter 773, Statutes of 2015. STRTP is a residential facility operated by a public agency or private organization that provides the following services:
The John and Dorothy Almkov House and Casa de Ninos house are level 12, intensive treatment, residential group home programs for boys aged 11 - 18. Most of these youngsters have suffered abuse or neglect. In this program we provide 24-hour awake supervision for 18 boys in need of this high level of care. Experienced clinical staff supported by trained and caring childcare workers provides treatment services. The goal of the program is to stabilize children so that they may either be reunited with their birth family or be placed into adoptions or a resource home.
